i was sitting in the back of a very crowded van on our way back from the mosque today and there was this really old folk song with lyrics that went on about how people bow in shame whenever the thought of conquering afghans crosses their minds.
needless to say, i was bowing in shame over the idea of how much of egomaniacs we really are. somewhere down the line, we passed on stories of how our great grand fathers did this and that and forgot to teach them of the small things like being decent to each other.
we talk big about how we are freedom lovers and how we would rather set ourselves on fire rather than being enslaved but then we don't know **** about the basics of what freedom or dignity.
afghans aspire to be like their heroes when they have forgotten how it is that one lives the life of an ordinary but dignified human being.
With this post you have spit in the face of all that have died for our country.
She has a very valid point and with all due respect, I feel maybe your reaction here is because like many other Afghans , you idealize and live in the romantification of our history rather than acknowledge some of the very unflattering parts. You don't see the puffed up , over inflated hype we've been taught to overcompensate for some nebulous idea of esteem.
I generally find DZJ a hypocritical and self contradictory character but she's very on point here.

Good. Maybe they should have died for a better cause instead. Like finding a better solution for the future of the country rather than leaving it in a worse state than it was before they decided to get themselves killed for it. I don't worship idiots for their sole ability of getting themselves killed.
O, and that song that you posted under the title of a pamiri song.. That was a pashtu song. If you knew either pamiri or pashtu, you would have known better than to babble over it.
"To burn always with this hard gemlike flame, to maintain this ecstasy, is success in life."

Wow now I know you are a punjabi troll or had daddy problems. You should spit when you look in the mirror disgrace to all afghans.

it's obvious that his accent is very different than any other pashto accent so since the video was called pamiri song and Pashto is apparently so similar to pamiri I figured it was pamiri.

Dude, come on, using Punjabi card is is a lame defensive tactic. Unfortunately she IS Afghan, there are many Afghans who know her that corroborate she's Afghan.
