Salaamuna i come in peace.
I just wanted to understand something of the origins of the tajiks and how i heard that some are rumoured to be of arab decent. I did some research and found that Tajik is the corruption of the word "Tazi" which literally meant Arab and that it was later applied to iranic people by the turks. This is the most obvious one. I also found out that 31% of tajiks from Dushanbe are J2 which is Semitic in origin. http://dienekes.blogspot.ca/2012/12/...nd-tajiks.html
Also this quote but the website itself seems a bit unreliable but whatever.
Also something i found very interesting about their clothing;
Now lets look at some similarity between the clothing;

Compare it to this;

Looks very similar to the arabic keffyieh.
I think it is a coincidence but i don't know but after finding all these similarities and what not i am really wondering if this is true, maybe Al Hanif wasn't really trolling when he said Tajiks are Arabs and there could be some unknown link between the two we don't know about.
Also there is a town called Arab, Tajikistan in the sughd province. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab,_Tajikistan
BTW this is NOT a troll thread, i am 100% serious and and want opinions and facts to support or refute what i am saying thanks.

But, although mainly of Iranian stock, with light complexion and regular features, the Tajiks claim Arab descent, regarding the district about Bagdad as their primeval home, and considering themselves the descendants of the Arabs who overran Central Asia in the first century of the Hejira

Rumol is men’s cotton waist kerchief, decorated with embroidery of various colors - by basma stitch or double-sided satin stitch. Patterns of floriated nature resembling Arab script predominate mainly on them.
