think of it this way, the last 30+ years of war, especially with taliban have done irreparable damage to afghan unity, especially perception of the pashtun people.

i have grown up in kabul and personally i have not been able to erase the scene of that infamous woman's exection by the pashtun talib with his pashtun grab from my mind, so when i come across a pashtun or hear someone speak pashtu or farsi with a pashtu accent i go into a hostile mode. but in real life i have no connection with any pashtun

i know that not all pashtun people are the same but when i hear of all the hot air from pashtuns, especially in the west it kind of bugs me because back in kabul pashtuns were a joke and still are a joke but with a different take now due to taliban atrocities

so that is how it is

The soviets killing 1.5 million afghans, displacing half its population and the thing that sticks out is a public execution.

Yup, your mentally ill and Kabulis loved Russians.

it was noormamad kharaki who sold the country along with the rest of his bighirat pashtuns to russians.

when he was smothered with a pillow by his another bighirat and murderer pashtun afeez ameen who wanted to sell the country to US. the russia sent its special forces and hafiz ameen and his family was massacred at daralaman

by now the situation was out of control because of afeez ameen's mass killings and the russians feared a vacuum and sent their troops... so it was once again the charpai bighirat pashunts who sold the country just like that had done with the british and just like they will do to the arabs and Pakistanis with taliban

the tragedy of other people living in what is afghanistan is that they have to share the country with a race of half savages who're behind in everything. the most illiterate, the most backward and the most stupid

If it comes to the poetry, your argument is at least debatable.

pashtuns are the most illiterate people in the world so poetry being the most basic litrary device, that also copied and structured based on persian poetry is all they got

if there were more litrate pashtuns, that could speak english this forum would have had more members

Do you really think that poetry has something to do with literacy? You sound like someone who thinks that Shahname was written by one author who sat down at the desk and started inventing a story!
Any poetry, Persian, Pashto, Hindu etc has its origins in oral tradition. And it was oral tradition that has developed various forms of poetry and poetic figures.
Some of them are native Pashtun forms, typical only for Pashto poetry. So they couldn't be copied from Persian poetry.
Oral tradition and what you call literacy are two different concepts.

let me put it this way. Yasameen is a nice dari word for Jasmin. When the pashtun stole it because they did not have the civilization to create their own words and language, they made Yasameen into Yasameena, which sounds like a gastric disorder

like when back in kabul we had one subject as pashtu and that was like the joke hour where we laughed at the accent of the pashtu teacher -

Let me put it in this way: I am not a Pashtana and the name 'Yasmeenah' has nothing to do with Pashto language.

I wonder how would you explain the fact that military terms in Dari language comes from Pashto?

If it comes to Pashto language and its accent - once I was told by a Tajik, that when I speak Dari, I sound like Pashtun speaking Dari. For me it was the best compliment I could dream about.
We all speak foreign languages with different accents. If we laugh of it, it only shows our ignorance and backwardness.

i don't care where you from, i'm just expressing what most people in afghanistan, especially people of kabul feel about pashtuns

the images of some talib mordagaw hitting women in kabul streets let alone the killings is not going to get erased just like that. pashtun guys used to pay protection in streets of kabul or they would be beaten up, that is why they were called awghania bighirat, to have the same people kill and hit women in kabul streets, certain things are irreconcilable

Next time you talk to me, please be more precise. It would also help if you could stick to one topic. Your last post confused me. I don't know if are still talking about existence of Pashtun culture or about gossips from the streets of Kabul.

The fact you omited my question about Pashto loan words in Dari has been noticed

one of the moderators needs to close this thread because i don't want my personal opinion in anyway to inspire hatred towards pashtuns.

I have never lived in Kabul (or any other place in Afghanistan for that matter), but I do know that Kabulis are usually stereotyped as being arrogant and condescending towards people from the rural areas (and thus are no different than the inhabitants of any other capital in the world). So maybe this is the reason?
