  • why kabuli people are hated by other afghans?

as a non afghan who grew up in kabul, i'm surprised at the level of hatred towards kabulis by other afghans

by kabuli i mean the people of kabul who're part of no tribe or ethnicity, speak dari and have their roots in old city of kabul

anyone would like to offer why this is the case

I don't think kabulis are hated that much but Kabulis are stereotyped as manipulative, backstabbers and love money more than anything else.

There are stereotypes about kandaharis as well.

if you look closely, the people of kabul did not side with any political ideology, there were no kabulies in any high office of the governments after 1979 revolution, and before that the government of afghanistan was mostly run by one clan and their relatives

on the other hand, in cultural field, music and intellectual side of things, its only the kabulies who have shaped what one might call the afghan culture today.

so could it be that the resentment against kabulies are mostly a resentment of their cultural superiority?

you're correct, the fact is that there are not many kabuli people. and what was there has already left

i think that could be painful to someone from kabul to know that they no longer have a home

your a non afghan raised in Kabul? where are you from then.

I have not lived in Kabul, so I don't know but I do know of the stereotypes.
As far as music is concerned, Pashtuns do not envy people that make music. PAshtuns regard making a living making a music below them.

Kabuli culture and afghan culture are separate.

                  Your'e a very confusing person.

                  1) what do you mean your'e a non afghan that grew up in kabul? are you a farsiwan? i know some tajiks don't call themselves afghan because they think it only means pashtuns

                  2) kabulis belong to ethnic groups, there is no such thing as a "native kabuli" Your'e either pashtun tajik or hazara in kabul!

Majority of the residents of kabul trace their ancestry to some other province in afg or the adjacent central asian countries.

                  3) and farsi culture? what the hell is that? please elaborate.

when is the first time that the so called pashtun people is mentioned in history?

kabul has been a city for the last 3500, so kabul was a civilized city when pashtuns were small nomads moving around places

^Dude go to Afghanistan and you will see pashtun culture all around you like the clothing, customs, way of life all the way to the food whether its in kanadahar or kabul. How can pashtuns have no history when we are mentioned by tons of invaders who encountered us? Afghanistan has 5000 years of history and this applies to pashtuns as well. Keep in mind it was a pashtun who changed the capital from Kandahar to kabul (timur shah durrani)

the afghan culture is part of the persian culture, pashtuns are a subgroup who have taken their culture from that root

the so called pashtunwali is a rip off of ghairat and the code of honor that has been in that region going back to cyrus the great, but more specifically to Aiaran, who were a vigilante group that rose against arab rulers of the time

pashtuns are recently civilized people by their persian rules, first Nadir Afshar and later on the ahmadzai clan that became persianized civilized the rest - but civilization is a basic term here meaning language only

cities become cities because nomads settle in them and build them up.
