why would anyone be embarrassed, we are on a forum. I am not wrong the suffix "ay" denotes female.

    for example:
    afghan afghanay
    Pakistan pakistanay
    Iran Iranay
    Russ Russay
    Arab Arabay

If I am wrong, then explain the suffix "ay" in her song.

That was not my intent. Why would I want attention diverted away from me. I like attention. you cant pit shamlawar against anyone with words. I have noticed he has a lot of self control during Ramadan.

Why are you drawing attention away from the actual original contention; That you denied she mentioned anything related to Pakistan.

Because you're getting desperate of course ....

You have the entire consensus of Pashto speakers in this thread saying you're wrong.

Save your dignity while you can; and don't try to split hairs on her accent.

because that's what the pf member "afghan" was saying. I was quoting him. that whole quote was intended at him, to see if he could correct it but khanwali ruined it and corrected it for him.

There is ey and there is ay. Ey is feminine while ay is masculine. Depending on the accept the pronounciation can vary. Since she is from nangarhar, her accent is pretty obvious. But to help you out I am going to listen to the song later and tell you exactly what I hear. It is late here so i cant make any noice now.

The"I" sound is masculine. Like in Kar"zai" so it would be Paksitanai and she is clearly not using the masculine form. She is using the feminine form, unless she is using it in some poetic sense, then that's a different matter or its a nagahar thing. I was under the impression she was Kabul"ay". If you could explain it, Ill recompense but the way we speak pashto, I am not wrong. But go ahead and get your sleep and let us know tomorrow.

Whatever you say man. I was trying to see if he could correct his error before khanwali jumped in. The point was never about what you make it out to be. your trying to spin this, that's all your good at.

Guys, We shouldn't give Khushal any leeway on this He's speaking about Pashto grammar as if he read it from a book or from Kitabtoon. In reality there are natural variations in how people intonate. This is irrelevant, he's trying to smokescreen and get us on some hair splitting issue rather than the issze that he simply could not underst6and what she was saying. lol

Not really. My voice is too rough for Pashto singing.
