  • Bakht Zamina

    I didn't know much about how Bakht Zamina died until today when I came across a comment on her song video on facebook. The guy said she was killed by Mujahidden from Hizb-i-Islamic Hekmatyar after she sang " O' sarbaza yara" . Does anybody know about the story of her death? Was she even killed?

    there are many stories, and everyone is blaming some one, but yeah the killers were like usulay some fanatic brainwashed wahabist, only they see a singing woman as a tread that need to be killed, the rest are not that stupid....

        Who?
        There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

            Communists say she died from TB and ikhwanis say she was gang raped by Russians.

            Actually many ikhwanis use to think that hey sarbaza yara is meant for them. I tried to convince this dude from Shamshatoo that it isnt so. But to no avail.

                No hekmatyar didn't kill her.

                Some say it was the Taliban because of some controversy in one of her songs when she mentioned them.

                  Taliban didnt exist back then. She died before Mullah Omar reached adulthood.

                      So none of you know for sure what actually happened to her. This is strange. How can someone just 'disappear' and nobody knows about him/her. We probably need some investigative Afghan journalist to interview the relatives of all those Afghans which died mysteriously during the revolution and beyond and find out the truth. People like Ahmad Zahir, Esmat (Communist turned Mujahiddin commander in the south), Bakht Zamina, Hafizullah Amin and many more. Could make a pretty valuable book comprised of the causes of the deaths of these people.

                          she didn't disappear, she passed away. some say it was cancer, some say the ikhwanies and some say it was her ex husband. there is an old story of one of my dad's friends from when they were young of how this friend held a funeral for her when she passed away because of how much he loved her. the guy's family apparently beat him nearly to death for it.

                            My father told me that men were so memorized by her beauty that when she died, the men were crying more than the women were.

                            @Kushan,
                            She died in late 1980 or early 1981.
