In all seriousness Karachi, if you really like this girl and want to get to know her in a more halal way, then go to her parents and asked to be engaged. This is the proper way to know someone without the fear of sinning. Engagements are meant for this, to know someone who you know you will marry. It's more Islamic and her parents will see it as a sign of respect.

I think engagement is to fast, first of all parents should learn what a person you are. Every carying parent will tell you first "NO!"
For that better make the father learn who you are, to be respected as a serious man. Because many people may ask to be engaged....

roll upto her house in your polished 1986 toyota corolla, preened bicycle mustache, tinted sunglasses, hawaiian shirt and tie-back sandals. Make sure you have the latest bollywood hit blaring from the car, if you can, try hand-brake turn into her drive-way for added effect. Then all you have to do is put a ring on her finger...it's that easy, bro.

Please don't be childish, KhyberKhan. His intentions are in the right place. At least he is trying to do the right thing. So what if he wants to marry her? I don't see any Islamic barrier so why are we making things that are halal haram for him? Maybe the two are meant for eachother? Seriously, leave him alone. He just wanted advice from us. And so what if he is a muhajir or Pashtun or whatever. We were all made by Allah swt and at the end, will return to Him swt as humans and judged for our faith and actions, not what ethnicity we belong to."Do not waste water even if you were at a running stream."-Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

1. Don't listen to most of what these people say
2. Introduce ur self to the girls parents, no don't just go to her home because that's suspicious either meet the males of he family in the event or somehow have one of ur friends that knows them intoduce u
3. Check around and see what type of people they are first u dot want to be a victim here of scam marriage or just a bad personality lol because a lot of people do change after engagement or marriage one friend of mine got engaged whith one of the distant relative that he chatted with on messenger and after the engagement the chick wanted to screw him over:-/
4. After u fully know the family and are pretty close with them which u should do in step 3 then send ur female family members to talk to the girls female family members
U don't want to do it too fast or too slow because they may marry her off or if it's too fast they will ship her out

In this day and age, I would say so. Society isn't the way it used to be anymore. Everything is fast-paced and people rarely make time for one another. Thus, many turn to asking for a consensus on the internet. I think that in some ways it may be better because it allows one to get a much broader range of advice from different people who have gone through different experiences. There is no one more qualified to give advice than another person except when it comes to experience. Sometimes shrinks can give the worst advice because it's simply a job for them and also because they have monetary interests in prolonging a solution. And welcome to the 21st century, my friend.Originally posted by KhyberKhan View PostBecause the internet is the best place for sound advice, right?Last edited by Joey_Gladstonezai; 04-23-2013, 06:36 PM."Do not waste water even if you were at a running stream."-Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
