and with all of this comes the geeky white guys fixation on samurai warriors of japan. for some reason they feel by reading some of the books, such as hakagaure and the book of five rings, and watching some samurai films they have some samurai spirit in them. once again by trying to imitate what they consider as strong individuals they feel they can overcome their own sense of weakness. so this movie with Neo playing a samurai or the previous one with tom are specifically targeted to this audience. also included are the geeky girls who're into japanese culture because unlike western culture the japanese idea of beauty is fantastical and does not have some tall thin blond as their archetype.

but then what is this thing about geeky weak guys and samurai? i mean for one the idea of samurai through movies is incorrect, secondly the samurai in the movies are almost always from a period of Japanese history where samurai had become civil servants and there was no longer any war.

but basically there is nothing into to this other than simply the movies acting as a form of mythology or ideology.

the real samurai were anything but the cookie cutter types in the movies. the real samurai would everyday wake up and start the day with preparing himself on how he will die the proper way. in other words he was a dead man, and what do you do with a dead man - who's alive and trying to kill you? isn't a living dead person the most horrifying being? THAT was what samurai were all about.

i have a samurai in my avatar, but that is mostly a parody, because i'm a parody of a samurai.
LOL i don't know what the hell this rambling nonsense was about buh all i got to say is that Keanu Reeves is half Chinese so HA!
