All the obligations of the Treaty of Versaille had been removed since the "Machtergreifung" since 1933. Germany fully established it´s armed forces and air force, it took full controle of western Germany with all it´s steel production capacities from the French and it taken controle of Sudete areas of Tshekoslovakia. GB and France had engaged Germany in a non-violent containement policy and had accepted German political and military power.

Germanie´s assault on Poland and France was unprovoked and politically and militarily unwise.


The idea of "living space in the east" was the problem of Nazi Ideology.

Hitler like most politicians parroted whatever nonsense was popular until he believed it was his idea & then took tragic action based upon those ideas.
While the Brits & French helped create the economic crisis that put Hitler into power, it was their policy of appeasement to avoid war that actually caused the war by feeding the idiot's ego.
German failings in the prosecution of WWII lay squarely at Hitler's feet. Had he dictated policy & left the execution of it to his generals & ministers, Germany would have had naval airpower, long range bombers & fighters, superior infantry weapons and 10 times as many tanks at the onset of hostilities. with what Hitler limited them to the german war machine could have taken both Britain & russia if not for Hitler dictating military & political strategy directly contrary to that put forward by the generals that were winning in the field. Even with Hitler's interference the german military & industrial complex fought the soviet union & the british empire to a standstill. The downfall of Germany only became a reality when the full weight of american industrial production was brought to bear. It was american supplied armaments that allowed both russian & britain to survive long enough for american politicians to con america into going to war.

Hitler had already been in full control of Germany by 1933 and he rose to power because of the treaty's harsh approach to Germany. His party was against the treaty from the beginning thereby confirming the German societies mood. You could equate the same approach when the Bonn conference of 2001 marginalized the Pashtuns. The Talibans comeback confirms the Pashtuns mood. Marginalizing historic power players in a region doesn't work.

Besides that there were competing imperial interests at play. How could have these empires avoided war with one another when they viewed each other as a threat. If Germany had successfully captured Western Russia and Japan had captured Eastern Russia, Germany and Japan would have eventually been at war. There was no platform for Imperial powers to avoid war with one another. That is the main purpose of the UN for the five official Imperial powers who were the winners. If Germany and Japan had not risen to great powers, the Soviets would have eventually confronted the English and French in Southeast Asia as well as Europe. The only reason the Soviets allied with the French and English was because they had common enemies in Europe and Southeast Asia. It was the platform(UN) that avoided direct confrontation between these powers after those common enemies were destroyed, the only way they could possibly confront each other was through proxies.
