First of all, Irani (Iranian) means natives of Iran, it's only a geographical terms. Some Iranians are not even Iranic. But Iranic is an ethno-linguistic term that denotes the people who share the common language Proto-Iranic and and common ancestry Proto-Iranians. Not neccessarily they're native to Iran: actually, they are native to Central Europe, and then to Greater Iran (after the Aryan Invasion happened).
Kurds are Northwestern Iranic people. Balochs are also Northwestern Iranic people. They are direct brothers (not even cousins). For comparison, Persians, Lurs, Bakhtiaris are Southwestern Iranic peoples; Mazandaranis, Gilakis, Balochs, Kurds (Sorani, Kermanji, and one other that I don't remember), Athropats are Northwestern Iranic peoples; Pashtuns, Pamiris, Ormuris, Parachis are Southeastern Iranic peoples; and Yaghnobis, Ossets are Northeastern Iranic peoples.
By the way, I can speak all Southwestern Iranic languages.Last edited by Nima Khan Abdali; 06-26-2012, 07:21 AM.

Ethnically, the kurds are related to the baloch.
In iran, there are many non-iranic people, like the azeri turks living in the north-west .
At the border with irak, there are many ethnic arabs.
Only the kurds , baloch and persians are considered " iranic people "
We can add the pashtuns ( iranic but mixed with neighbours ), and the tajiks are also ethnically " iranic ", even if some of them ( in north afghanistan and tajikistan ) were mixed with the turkic people ( uzbak, kyrgyz people )..

You give an impression like you want to import your arab culture inside Iran. Khuzestan is not culturally close to any arab countries. Khuzestan only predominantly inhabited by arabs and the arabs there do not date as much early as babylon. Have some respect to Achamenid Kings who gave you shelter and keep your mouth shut.Originally posted by al-arabThis is correct. I think Indo-Iranian people are all those people who speak Indo-Iranian languages such as Iranian, Pasthun, Kurdish, Baloch etc.
Ethnic Arabs do not only live close to Iraq (Khuzestan which should be a part of Iraq) but also all the coastal regions in Iran to the Arab/Persian Gulf are inhabited by Arabs mostly.
For example in Khuzestan many people speak a Iraqi Arabic dialect (Southern Iraqi) which is very similar to khaleeji Arabic. Khuzestan is also culturally similar to other Arabic countries and it was once part of Mesopotamia/Babylon.
I read once that Kurds and Baloch share exact same ancestry and that both originated in Northern Iraq - today's Kurdish region. Whether this is true I am not sure about. Many Kurds, in Iraq, have intermarried with Iraqi Arabs, Assyrians, Turkmens and in even some cases Yazidis (which are an Indo-Iranian people that are dangerous and worship fire)
But if we look far back we are all related. And of course all heavily mixed.
