Whilst Pashtuns can be Pakistani - and there's nothing wrong with that, even if they were a uniform block, it is inaccurate to use the term 'racist' when describing the actions of other Pashtuns. It doesn't apply here.

What we have often witnessed often is squabbles between Pashtuns over minor issues when the better option would have been looking at commonality. Repeated disregards of posting etiquette by some troublesome Members have contributed to a feeling of unease. It is easy enough for me to restrict the posting activities of some Members, but often they reappear with new IDs and this has periodically hurt the forum. This is a negative.

It is important to have a balance of views and ideally this forum should remain a platform for learning and interaction for Pashtuns from everywhere; regardless of nationality/pre-fix/denonym. That can only be maintained by people who are willing to weather difference of opinion - none of us completely think alike, after all. As often happens in life, people have and will eventually move on and Son of Mountains did the same when it was his time. This place should not be off limits and despite a periodic pruning of inactive accounts, his account remains 'open'. Son of Mountains heads another web-space and for those who are in contact with him; I send my Salaam.

However, going back to the quote I have used here; those of us who attempt to define Pashtuns as Pakistani or Afghan as if they were irreconcilable polar opposites, then know that this rejected by those independent minded free thinkers who see our commonness - historical, linguistic and cultural as what binds us, first.

    Well said response.

I dont see how one can reconcile being opposed to the war in Afghanistan and be pro-Pakistan too because currently, Pakistan Army and Government support the NATO war.

You can find him on "www.******************" which I think he runs. That site is the opposite of this one. There, pro-Paki Pashtuns will blindly defend Pakistan and bully any Afghan. Graveyardofempires, Amir Al Ghaznavi and I know this. Many pro-Paki members from here joined that site but nevertheless, its dead and boring.

It's just a bunch of Pathans talking about their country. Nothing more. Similarly, there is also an anti-secular Pashtun forum frequented by unknownprince.

                      wishful thinking.

as much as id like to think this to be true, it isn't and won't be true unless the area is administered by afghanistan and the paki flags are replaced by afghan ones.

if the emirate couldn't even subdue the whole of afghanistan at the height of its power, its prospects of taking land away from pakistan is non existent.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

The Pakistani constitution does recognize it as a part of Pakistan and that's why the representatives of that area are sitting in the National Assembly of Pakistan not some other country.

Now .. let's not get into this debate :-P

I knew of a forum called pathan something. It was a good representation of Pakistani Pashtuns and everything related to them. Very Nationalistic Pakistanis. Proud of their Pakistani identity and proud of their Pashtun heritage. How Pashtuns should be.

I didn't join at that time and now I can't find the site at all. Later I joined here for promotion purposes of my book and got caught up in the debate but i couldn't find that site at all. Maybe it shut down.

This site favors the Ultra-Nationalist Afghan Pashtun a little more which is perhaps why Pakistani Nationalists like jana and sonofmountains quit though i don't think that was the right choice. Doing that left no one presenting the Pakistani Pashtuns perspective.

Of course not blaming the admins. Its a good site and each site promotes a certain worldview. This is as much true for pashtunsforums which people would say is too pro pakistani and blindly defends Pakistan.

Kurmewal you seem like a sane member on this forum.
