• Legendary Member: Son of Mountains

Okay I was just researching a member called Son of mountains. Call me nosy or whatever but I don't understand why he's not on the forum anymore.

Why has no one thought of bringing him back? Requesting him to come back? I have been spying on his account and some of his posts recently and I liked his style and of course his views.

So how many of you want him back? If you do then make sure you send him a PM to ask him to return. Because I am about to do the same.
I am the author of Badal, an upcoming fiction novel on the War on Terror. For more information about me visit www.havisultan.com

I'm sure of that. Our racist champions must have driven the guy out. The exact reason why the Pakistani Pashtun is not represented properly on this forum.

Contradiction in terms. Read the bold type.

Whilst Pashtuns can be Pakistani - and there's nothing wrong with that, even if they were a uniform block, it is inaccurate to use the term 'racist' when describing the actions of other Pashtuns. It doesn't apply here.

What we have often witnessed often is squabbles between Pashtuns over minor issues when the better option would have been looking at commonality. Repeated disregards of posting etiquette by some troublesome Members have contributed to a feeling of unease. It is easy enough for me to restrict the posting activities of some Members, but often they reappear with new IDs and this has periodically hurt the forum. This is a negative.

It is important to have a balance of views and ideally this forum should remain a platform for learning and interaction for Pashtuns from everywhere; regardless of nationality/pre-fix/denonym. That can only be maintained by people who are willing to weather difference of opinion - none of us completely think alike, after all. As often happens in life, people have and will eventually move on and Son of Mountains did the same when it was his time. This place should not be off limits and despite a periodic pruning of inactive accounts, his account remains 'open'. Son of Mountains heads another web-space and for those who are in contact with him; I send my Salaam.

However, going back to the quote I have used here; those of us who attempt to define Pashtuns as Pakistani or Afghan as if they were irreconcilable polar opposites, then know that this rejected by those independent minded free thinkers who see our commonness - historical, linguistic and cultural as what binds us, first.

God bless our mashar tor_khan.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

SG aka GOE aka aempratoreyqabrestaan... but why did you ( a true Pashtun) use a Farsi word qabreston? I am not an expert on Pashto but I think that there are at least few words in Pashto for graveyard If you used one Farsi word you could also use the Farsi sentence order and then your fourth name would be qabreston-e emperotori
