People drove to Nangarhar for it´s mild weather during spring and Newey Kaal celebrations there were legendary as far as I know.

Nangarhar is known as one of the major centres for cultivation of fruits and vegetables, it´s gardens etc.

Something must be wrong with you. haha
lol! that's what i'm saying kana, if it really was innovated in pashtun culture my family wouldn't just ignore it like that. But ok, a lot of my family is now in Peshawar too, but that shouldn't make a big difference, its the same people, same culture, same traditions.

What about you go and ask your parents or grandparents about Newey Kaal and how people celebrated it in Nangarhar back in the days?

I know alot of Afghan families who don´t celebrate Akhtar because they are uprooted for whatever reason they might have but that doesn´t mean they didn´t celebrate it in Afghanistan back in the old days....

      Know what I mean?

Just do some background checks and then come back and tell us.

PS: Please don´t misunderstand me. I am not judging you or your respected family in this regard.

Sadly, there are some gross distinctions between Peshawaris and the rest of the Pashtun mainland in respects to culture; while they do share more similarities than differences. The differences can't be ignored

We live in America; I may not wear a partog/Gharrah like my distant cousins in Ghazni would, that doesn't mean my previous generations didn't.

what differences? I'll agree that there are differences between pashtuns from bigger cities like Kabul, Peshawar, Jalalabad etc versus pashtuns from smaller areas and villages but i dont think theres a distinction between just peshawarian and the rest of pashtuns.

Anyways, even if i did agree with you, the elders in my family have grown up in nangarhar so if they celebrated nowroz in nangarhar they would have celebrated it in peshawar and the west too if they're in the west. Also, i still have family in nangarhar and even they dont celebrate nowroz.........

Any affiliation with the Islamic parties like Hisb-e Islami (Khalis) or Hisb-e Islami (Hekmatyar)?

I just asked because I know some families from Jalalabad who, after moving to Germany, became more "islamic" and constantly denied Pashtun heritage by declaring it un-islamic.

They were/are affiliated with Hisb-e Islami factions.

Culture is fluid and not static.
Sometimes it changes rapidly in on or two generations.

Why "we" ? Do you think you have the right to talk in the name of everyone here ?

If you really don't care, then why are you responding to my comment ?

....I am talking for myself and I am pretty sure that no one cares about how disappointed you are that she is not affiliated with one of the civil-war factions.

I responded to your comment to make clear how unimportant the opinion of a Berber living in France about Afghan matters is.

Now go back to your banlieus and talk to people who really care about the content of your words.

I am here to speak the truth, if you're not happy with it, you can leave honey.

I've already noticed that you never made the same type of remarks when it was Yasmeenaah who gave her opinion about Afghan matters.

Everyone can deduce what he wants from this simple fact.

By the way, telling me to go to my "banlieue" is as ridiculous as calling me an "Arab". You obviously don't know who I am.

You should stick to insults. Either way, you are just exposing yourself as a two-sided hypocrite, a racist and a very frustrated individual.

I don't even want to answer to your comments anymore.

Every time I read you, it's like if my IQ drops by 5 points.

You are now on my ignore list.
