^But Pashto is such a beautiful one..it's also part of one's identity, heritage and culture..

If you're gonna speak any language, might as well be your own.

In principle, it may be "just" a language, but in reality, it's far more than that. If it were "just" a language, entire races and communities wouldn't constantly be wiped off the earth just because of a certain language they spoke. We take it too far when we force our own language on others and deny them the right to speak theirs (history has proven to us that many, many people have oppressed other groups by forcing their own language/identity on them), but to encourage people to speak their native language shouldn't be a problem for anyone.

Re: How many languages can you guys speak?

Recently, I've stopped giving so much thought to races, languages, cultures and most things related to them. The reason being that everyone originated from the same place, and if you ever get an opportunity to trace your genetic roots, you'll be surprised where your ancestors came from.

For example, Charles Darwin's (the man we owe evolution to) great-great-grandson traced his paternal DNA, and it showed his ancestors lived in all sorts of places like Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, etc.

Now Charles Darwin was English, and yet his ancestors were like the original people of the Arabian Peninsula.

It's futile to think we'll always be what we are. In a matter of a few hundred years, your descendants might not be anything like you at all.

My Urdu is alright..not great, I spend 5 years in Hong Kong and 10 years in England.
I learned urdu by watching TV, Pashto from Mum and Dad and English in School.
