Pukhto, Dari (Farsi), Urdu, English, Dutch and German.

I am working on my Arabic and though I do understand Punjabi, I always get stuck in my words when I try to speak it.

Yeah man, people say it's like a mixture of Pashto and Panjabi because it's spoken at the border of Pashtun lands and the Panjab.

I guess "Hi, how are you?" would be "Salamalaikum, ke aal eh?"

Hindko has lots of dialects though. The people in Peshawar speak it differently from the people in Attock (Chhachh areas), who speak it differently from the people in Abbotabad etc.

My ancestors lived in Attock for a while, so that's how we picked it up.

My Pashto isn't as strong as it should be..it's getting there..

I also know English, Hindhko, Urdu, can't speak Punjabi but could understand (if not spoken at at a million miles an hour!). I'm half and half with German, know a wee bit of Arabi as well.

My family have migrated a fair bit, erm so I think probably the most like Abbottabad dialect maybe mixed with the Pekhavar dialect? Not too sure on the difference to be honest.

"My name is Khaney, I am a girl, and this is how I speak Hindko"

I am curious about the differences...

I really wouldn't say it's that much like Punjabi, but it contains some of its words, mixed with urdu, pashto and farsi. Punjabi's can't really understand hindko. It depends on the dialect as well, like those who speak it in Karachi will probably mix it with more with punjabi and urdu, but those in Pakhtunkhwa speak it differently.

Hindko to Pashtuns in Pak, is perhaps like dari to Pashtuns in Afg. It's just summat you pick up, Pashto is our language though.

Okay I can't type transliteration for toffee, so it'll probably sound strange in the minds of those who aren't familiar with the language, but here goes;

Marra naam Khaney eh, meh kurri eh, aur meh hindko bhich aya gal kardiya.

I think this is the hazara dialect by the way - how would you say it?

^It's basically just another dialect of urdu spoken in Pakhtunkhwa.

I think if you hear it spoken then it's not so bad.

But wow, yeah that sounds very punjabi-like.

I totally prefer Pashto, it's wierd how some would chose not to speak it or something else instead. Okay I'm drfiting now =/
