He was an intellectual fraud and a bluff master of the highest calibre. And now he will be remembered as a pervert...."educated" pervert.

His point was that 2000 Afghans shouldn't have demonstrated for 2 days infront of baghram base because a truck load of Islamic scriptures were dumped and burned in the first place. He might as well say that a muslim shouldn't get angry when he hears that US soldiers pissed on the Qur'an when they were interrogating muslim detainees. Or that if our books are being burned by the truck loads and our culture being destroyed in the ways of the old barbarians such as gengis khan ...we shouldn't feel upset. Because it is just paper and ink.

This guy doesn't even think that the Qur'an is holy at all since he does not even believe that it is literal but some abstract, metaphor that has been debunked by darwin . In his twisted and warped sense of reality, based on Naturalistic Pantheism, there is no heaven with gardens, rivers, fruits and a hell with fire and brimstone and men as it's fuel. He doesn't even believe that angels are on your shoulders and literally write down your deeds. He is a nut case full of contradictions.

Why would you make a ritual of burning the Qur'an? Sure enough, different schools of fiqh have different methods of disposing an illegible mus'haf - that thing that stores the Qur'an and burning it is one way. But this moron was stretching one argument over into something else - burning a legible and pristine Mus'haf for no other reason but to stir a controversy and become popular (or his hope of going viral) on youtube is simply moronic and ill faithed.

Why did Umar Ibn Khattab's sister insist that Umar wash off the blood from his hands and clean himself before he touched the Quran then? It was just a piece of paper with Qur'an written on it ...why the extra ritual? Why did the Holy Prophet peace be upon write verses on

"Verily actions are judged by their intentions".

Why did Uthman Ibn Affan burn all copies of the Quran instead of the one we read today? He burned it as they were all somewhat different to one another. Didn't most of the Quranic Hafizes get martyred at the Battle of Yamamah fighting the false-prophet Musaylimah? This to before an official book version. It was this battle that made the Caliphs consider writing it down, before it, they were not in favor of it.

It is the significance of the verses, not necessarily the book. I don't agree with burning it, as it is disrespecting the message. The Madrassah where I grew up burned the older copies of the quran, without incident or protest.

uthman ibn affan ra burn the copies of other reading else quraish for good reasons cuz some ppl start saying our reading is better than your reading to the quran...some of them made takfir on other cuz of their diff reading to the quran.....etc

There was no official book version of the Quran. Muslims wrote down surah's that matched their Arabic dialect (7 in total). The first 3 caliphs were to busy trying to establish their new-found empire. The compilation was then considered by Uthman. Uthma decided to burn all copies of the Quran that weren't in the Qurayshi dialect (the one that the Prophet(PBUH) was taught). this is similar to the Quranic translations in other languages, that aren't in the native Qurayshi dialect the Prophet preached.
