Pashtun society needs to allow the women to decide her own choice.
Look at this secularist's thoughts. If anyone does not know who is secular and what is secularism, he should read this man's posts. A clear reflection of the denial of God's word.

According to DaZahrojam, "You are rejected five times" LOL.
I think its better to marry in your own people. You can't trust on anyone you don't know.

The truth is most pashtuns marry within their own tribe so even if he is rejected, he must try again. Some times the girl's family reject you because they want to see how much you really want the girl. As most have said, don't give up after first rejection. Its a standard procedure. Just be respectful and don't do anything behind her family's back, things might turn sour. Just be straight and honest and hope for the best. I am sure if he deserves her, he will get her.

how does that make sence? all the pashtuns i know have immense pride even if they are dying of starvation they wont ever beg for food let alone a woman or people that are rejecting him, and whats worse the afghan guys go bak upto 5 times after getting dissed. why all the games. seems propa backwards.

Pashtun/Afghan guys don't visit the house. Who the hell said that? It's usually the women, likely elders, that show persistence and get the job done. Being rejected for the women is normal, and by consistently showing interest, the family realizes they are serious about this proposal. Also, they have to perform research on the family. No one would just allow you to marry his/her daughter without conducting a proper background check.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

At times, the girl's family finds it quite disrespectful when they guy's family goes directly to her father's house. Usually, its best to visit the grandfather or elder uncles and see if the girls family may have an interest in potential suitors.

A girl's family rejecting the guy the first couple of times, is very normal and this is from personal experience. Afghan families dont like to give their daughters away that quickly to any random Joe. It even happens amongst the family. Its not really dissing the guy or anything, its just it takes a while for a family to wholeheartedly accept it.

Sorry, probably, it was not appropriate posting this thread...

I told the gentleman why are you presuming you would be rejected...

Anyhow, in Pukhtunkhwa side, it has become very simple---If you are an educated person from a good family (respected socially) preferrably employed, someone is going to find you out (girl family interested in you may make indirect offer through relatives usually women)---Alterantively, if you are a good nice girl preferrably educated now a days, there would be droves of good families seeking you out for their boys---The approach is direct to the immediate parents although consent of uncles etc. is also sought (considered good)...

Don't know may be I am making it too simplistic...but this is what is my observation...

In Pukhtunkhwa, I don't think they say "no" outrightly---when approached the first time, they say, "we'll think about it" and "give us some time" ---"monga ba thaso tha jawab darko chai khplao kai moslath okoo" etc. etc. etc. ultimately, after collecting info about you and liking you, they may tell you "rashai..." otherwise they'll send a regret message saying "yara thaso dair kha khalak yayai, zamong khwakh yayai, kho da mashoma mo bal cha tha waila da,---aow ya oos sabak wayi, sabak chai pora ki no bya ba yai da wada soch kawooo" ...

                                Anyhow, these are complicated matters----
