Awww, I see some boys are so afraid of women who challenge their opinions

Believe me - I'd be insulted and offended if men who lacked intellect ever, EVER asked for my hand, desired me, or showed ANY interest in me. Nothing would be more offensive, to be honest. So, thank you; it's an honor to see that certain types of men are intimidated by "Qrratugai" :D

Khair, don't worry - I've heard it's only psychological, that men want women who are "dumber" and even less educated than them; they don't want women who'd correct them, for instance. It is proven by most of the responses here from our brothers.

Yeah, it's really amusing that some boys here are so intimidated by Qrratugai Awww!! Wait till I share this excitement with my fiance Poor guy - imagine what he's gonna have to live with for the rest of his life, eh Well, I DID warn him, you see; he just chose not to listen, lol.

LOL! Exactly! People think women who speak their minds won't find men :P Little do they know, we have a VERY good way of *eliminating* dummies See? :D Men who don't like intelligent women are a big NO-NO! Really, it makes our life so much easier in deciding what we really want and don't want.

              And thanks

^Are you talking to yourself again?
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

She should listen to her husband, IF he has something useful to say...
                        lol ... Thanks!

See, I wouldn't want a man who's dumber than me ("dumb" means different things to different people, particularly to me). And I'd want him to be at least as educated as I am, 'cause I don't want him to suffer from an inferiority complex. A good, supportive husband won't ever feel like his wife is trying to top him because he'll be decent enough to know that marriage isn't a competition; it's not a test to see who's better and who's not, who's stronger and who's weaker, who's smarter and who's not. So a man worth marrying will not let that happen and will instead be happy for a wife who has become an accomplished and successful member of a community or society.

I'd want to discuss with my husband what I'm studying, researching, exploring, writing on, and so on. I'd want him to discuss his interests, intellectual and otherwise, with me as well, and I'd wanna listen with a keen interest and enthusiasm just as I'd want him to listen to mine. I CANNOT imagine living with a man who can't understand what I'm doing! That'd be torture for me.

I think that women and men both should have the willingness to cooperate. (I wouldn't marry a man who can't cook, simply because if I come home from work or from visiting a friend and my husband is already home and is just relaxing watching tv or reading a book/newspaper, I'd prolly get upset: He should respect me by having something cooked for us while I'm away, just as I should/would respect him by cooking something for both of us while he's away.) We tend to forget that compromise, communication, and cooperation are essential in keeping a healthy relationship with our spouse.

Further, we also tend to focus on the respect of a wife towards her husband. What about the respect of a husband towards his wife? If the husband deserves to be respected by his wife (perhaps because he treats her very well, the way a man should treat his wife), the woman won't have a reason not to respect him. However, by "respect" here, I don't mean obedience: If there's respect, the question of obedience will not be there. BOTH will be listening to each other, BOTH will be seeking each other's support and advice/feedback when necessary. Neither will have to disrespect the other.
