Ignorant westerners calling afghans south asians?

am i the only one who has experienced this???? when some ignorant western dude calls afghans as south asian or even indians??? seriously it really annoys me. i dont have anything against indians, but they are different from us in everyway, especially when you consider most indian culture is hindu based, while afghanistan has nothing to do with hinduism. I am often surprised at how ignorant some westerners can be, most people here think that afghans look exactly same as indians, i dont know if they are blind or something. afghans to me look much more middle eastern then indian or even paki. Afghan cultue is much more middle eastern then indian. I think afghanistan should be considered part of middle east rather then south asia or even central asia which is much more mongol/turkic now.

Actually my experiences are contrary to yours; I hear people say "Central Asian" or "Middle Eastern"

sorry but i am, i am neither indian, persian or arab blah blah, i am proud afghan. However generally middle eastern are not really different from us, thats why i dont mind being confused with them, but being confused with indians is really stupid in my opinion

One of my friends, Pashtun says that Afghanistan is in Central Asia. Second one, also Pashtun says that Afghanistan is in the heart of Asia.

i dont think we are central asians either, only Tajik and uzbeks are a bit similar to us, but their looks now more mongol, while most pashtuns are caucasian or more middle eastern in looks

The last 30 years of war brought afghanistan more closer to south asia but historically afghanistan,the pashtunland and baluchistan was part of greater khurasan .Therefore it is central asian country no matter what people call you.It is not part of south asia and the people are not of indic race.
South asian people are of indic race and afghans are not indic according to most historains.
It was uder the infulence of mugal indain sultanat at one stage but always close to iran and central asia then south-asia.
All of the above westreners do not owned this world so who care if they call you south-asian.
There are some theories that pashtuns are of hindo race but it is,nt that strong claim.
Do,nt follow the westren white supermacists ideas where only the white and fair skin people classified superior.They look down up on dark skin and most south asians are of wheatihs and dark skin.

The other thing i do,nt understand why pashtuns do,nt like to be called south-asians?
just cus south-asians are dark and pashtun more fair come on.
If we rule over india then did,nt ranjeet sing defeated the durani king of ours and took half our land and even our king shah shuja was in their prison.
Pashtuns are warrior and brave nation compare to hindoes but one must read the stories of pritvi raj chohan how he defended his country.How raja daher defended his land against the arabs?
No matter what people call you as long as you know who you are,dont worry.
afghanistan is part of central asia no matter what others say.
