Could my professor be racist?

ok so on my exam he gave me a 49.50%, i need a 50% mark on my exam to pass the course. I have requested to round my mark to 50%, but he said no, and gave me no reason for it.

I am not the first person complaining about this. I had another muslim friend before who complained about the same professer.

So far i haven't decided what to do, I think I will go to higher authorities in the university to challenge my mark and complain about this idiot.

To be honest you are the one failing the course how does that make your prof a racist/loser I don't know..And usually you need 60% to pass in the courses so again I don't know what level of studies you are dealing with

The prof isn't "racist" just because he won't give you an extra 0.5% he may be a bit strict but if he isn't willing to give you even half a percent chances are you didn't do anything to earn it either. Students usually neve have anything good to say about professors so I'd suggest you either make a grade appeal or jus suck it up

What course is this. If its math than you could challenge him/her.
What ethnicity is your professor. If he/she is the same race as you, then he/she is not racist.
What kind of test was it. Essay, multiple choice. How are your other studies going, what kind of student are you. you have to give us more details otherwise it is hard to hypothesis.

taking a course over again is a waste of time and money, i mean i wouldn't say anything if it was like 48%, but 49.50% is so near, most other professors just round the mark, i am not sure why he isn't doing this

Take the course again and pass it this with 90 or 95%.

oppurtunities dont come by that easily/frequently. failing to make the best of them or impressing your professor to grant you a %.50 mark is somthing one should choke over and die on the spot. seriously, why would a teacher prove himself worthless by failing his student purposly. some of us are just used to blaming others for our own shortcomings and failures. and when i say US i obviously mean YOU.

the prof gives you the Grade not the final mark and I'm talking about Canadian universities, you can technically "pass" a course with 50% but that only gives you a D and you can't take any courses that this course is a pre-requisite for unless you have a "C" which is 60% mark and profs don't do 49.5%

Some professors set a rule in their mind... and if u are only half a percent lower than that they will not give you a higher grade.

i had this iranian teacher for my physics class. I scored 94.5% in the class and he gave me an A- rather than A. he had set a rule as 90-94% as A-. 95% as A and 96-100% as A+. it was outrageous. I was so upset but then I just let it go because that is what we had agreed on.

I am not saying that the possibility of your teacher being doesn't exist... he could be racist. he could be racist. I have come across a couple of racist professors.
