Well I guess,it isn't wrong. In fact, when they can't find access in the arm, they go for the back of the hand, which is just more painful but can have excellent veins..Arm is easier, still, to secure the needle in place, and the vessel is also larger so could be accessed easily.

i wish they went for the back of my hand every time. it doesn't hurt me at all. in the arm once the needle is inserted they start swimming with the stupid thing because they can't find the vein and it hurts a lot.
