Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

yes guli... saffron in green tea... it tastes divine..

this is how u would use it, take a few strands of saffron and mix it with a teaspoon of sugar... and add a pinch of it in ur hot tea. it can replace cardemom.

              • Nice Gulbabo ... never considered it to be honest. I don't drink tea anyway, but the family always use cardamom, lots of it, except some, who say it gives them a headache.

                    • ^Mahzala jani: try it now ... you might find that saffron is a little expensive, and the highest quality saffron might not even be available in the West. saffron comes in all quality and prices... so the highest quality 1kg saffron is about 2000 US $,
just a little general knowledge ... and u might know about this

i could only afford around 10 g of it haha... it lasts a very long time. i use a littttttttttttle bit in my tea, or i color rice (plain rice) with it.

Right now, there is plenty in the kitchen cupboard, as, like you said, we too use it in rice and other sweet and savoury dishes. As for putting it in tea, that was a new one. I will try it InshaAllah when I actually feel like tea. I am not big on tea, in fact, I rarely drink any. Had my apple for breakfast now, that should be enough to keep me fresh for a few hours.

Little rant: the usual, wrote a reply to a thread, and it got lost. It never comes out right the second time =(
