Why is their so much inter marriages in Afghan/Pashtun family? In my family alone their is alot of this. And it's happened with the previous generations (40-60 yrs old)
My parents are cousins, so is my parents of at least 7 of my cousin (with 7 I mean different sets of marriage, in total idk like over 20+) this practice of inter-tribal marriages are weird.
My paternal grandma is Popalzai Pashtun, and theirs like 6 sets of inter tribal or family marriages. (several Popalzai marrying Zazai's as well)
My paternal grandpa is Kharoti Pashtun. (I lost count of inter tribal marriages have been done here)
My maternal grandma is Noorzai Pashtun/Uzbeki. No inter tribal marriages here
My paternal grandpa is Kharoti Pashtuns (both my grandpas were brothers) yet, alot of inter tribal marriages as well.
My great grandparents were mixed of being Kharoti/ Popalzai/ Qureishi/ Uzbeki. So this practice is new, just recently my 2nd cousin (Zazai) married his cousin(Zazai)
Is this done by others? Or my family is weird?
