OMG!!! okay so last year at this Nowroz function we were at.....it was me, my khala, and my sister sitting in a table together. Then this bibi with her two daughters came and sat with us, we didnt know who they were. She was wearing those suit skirts with a gauge chadar on. Then she gets up and starts dancing in front of everyone. People thought she was like my aunt or something because she was sitting with us......we were like so embarrassed. It was bad.

that gauge chaddar annoys the hell out of me and every supposedly respected elder lady in afghanistan wears one. that .....is see too small and through to begin with..but yeah, there is a party in monday again. i don't think i will go even though my sister literally begged me to give her company. she has to go with the rest of the family since she is volunteering for the afghan community blah blah blah.

They used to have Afghan Jashens in NY, until the Persians kept trashing everywhere. Know their is no Afghan Persian Jashens in NY, they trashed all available places.

DZJ, okay good, thank goodness i am not the only one who gets annoyed by the 'faatya posh chadars' its so annoying. I mean its even completely see through. I never let my mom wear it. Ha ha i hid hers

Oh so you are going.....have fun. Make sure to take something with you so you dont get bored or something. Take your ipod :D or book to read in the car..... Before i used to make up the excuse of studying to do, so i used to get excused.

But i cannot stand Afghan functions anymore......older women come around the young girls like pirhanas

ha ha its so true. Older women take the advantage of Afghan functions to find girls.....one time this girl sent her son to sit with us....my older cousin cursed at him right there.

They make us feel uncomfortable, they come and sit with you and ask you a million questions, and usually the top 10 question is if you can cook.....so i always say that i cannot cook

Funny thing is these woman always want a young girl even if their own sons are hella old and ugly. :p

Even in Nowroz mela's they do it too....because that is when all the youngsters go to the melas and the guy's mothers are walking around....about to attack their prey.
