You're fooling yourself
Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

You ask this but earlier you tried to make it seem like Saudis imitating The Fast & Furious movies was Sunnah lolOriginally posted by ذو الفقار View Post[Why should we copy Europeans?

The only one that doesn't make sense is you.Originally posted by ذو الفقار View PostAs usual nothing constructive to say, the sign of an uneducated or otherwise unintelligent person. When will you actually make a contribution to the discussions on this discussion board. Do you intend only to make sly remarks and personal attacks? I mean, since you can’t actually make any academic argument is it necessary to compensate for that by threatening people with violence like a typical illiterate Pathan?
You come from an Indian(culture) Background.
There is no 'Islamic Culture' but you made one(according to you Islamic Culture=Arabic Culture).
You hate European Culture and your 'Native Culture'(Indian Culture).
You would rather be an Arab, speaking Arabic, wearing Arabic, Eating Arabic,, than be yourself.
That says a lot about you!
P.S. Again there is no Islamic Culture.
There are Cultures that can be Islamic. But no standalone Islamic Culture.
No culture(or race) is superior over the others.
Arabs are not special(dont say 'Quran is in Arabic' argument again).
It is sad you guys(most Indians) sink that low(Inferiority complex), i.e. Hating your natural background(where you come from, your culture and stuff).
But i am sure this won't get through your thick head.
Try to disprove any of my arguments in this comment I dare you.

I do indeed.Originally posted by salman47 View PostThe only one that doesn't make sense is you.
You come from an Indian(culture) Background.
Islamic culture means a culture that is based on Islam. There is no 'Islamic Culture' but you made one(according to you Islamic Culture=Arabic Culture).
What's wrong with hating a culture? Should I love every culture? What's wrong with hating your own culture? If anything it proves that I am an unbiased person who is open minded. You hate European Culture and your 'Native Culture'(Indian Culture).
I would like to continue to learn Arabic not to be part of Arab culture but to better learn about my religious texts like Quran and other Islamic literature which is primarily written in Arabic. You would rather be an Arab, speaking Arabic, wearing Arabic, Eating Arabic,, than be yourself.
The thawb is not unique to Arabic culture. Even if it was, I don't wear the thawb to be part of Arab culture, but to imitate the dress of my Prophet (peace be upon him).
The Prophet created a unique culture which is based upon his Sunna lifestyle. Many aspects of that unique culture based on his Sunna actually clashed with the standard Arab culture of his time. But no standalone Islamic Culture.
From the Sunna is to eat cucumbers, dates, and melons. This was the ordinary food of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
Someone mentioned that Arabs like to eat lizard. I heard some of them even drink camel urine. They also smoke 'Sheesha', it is considered an integral part of common Arab culture. But I avoid this kind of culture because it is against the Prophet's Sunna. I want to follow Sunna culture not Arab culture.
Culture is not synonymous with race. Most definitely some cultures are superior to others. No culture(or race) is superior over the others.
Why should I like Indian culture just because I am of Indian descent? I hate a lot of aspects of Indian culture. I hate their obsession with music and dance. I hate that it is very much a matriarchal culture. I hate that it is a culture that is very much rooted in Vedic religion and philosophy, and not the Semitic/Abrahamic religion and philosophy that I subscribe to.Arabs are not special(dont say 'Quran is in Arabic' argument again).
It is sad you guys(most Indians) sink that low(Inferiority complex), i.e. Hating your natural background(where you come from, your culture and stuff).
There are lot of other aspects of Indian culture I hate, and lot of aspects of other cultures such as Chinese, European, Latin American, African, etc.
But it's not so much a matter of hating other cultures, its more a matter of me loving Islamic culture that I have no time for other cultures. My Blog

Zulfi has his lines crossed with so much self hatred that he's confused Islam with Imitating Arab cultural dress. it's sad ....

Since I don't identify with Indian culture, heritage or civilization I can't be accused of self-hatred.My Blog

Yeah I dislike dumb Muslims who put Arabs on some kind of pedestal like they are supposed to have a form of authority on Islam, very apostatic/unIslamic btw since God is the only authority, unless these fools believe God is supposed to have a favorite group and out of all that may exist in the universe that would be Arabs. lol.Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View PostIn other words, you're attempting to rebrand your self hatred by calling it something else.

Seeing this thread reminded me of our dearly departed friend, Dhul-Fiqar, so I took a look at his blog, and found something pretty hilarious. Apparently he now believes that Ghulam Ahmad received a revelation from Allah (subhana wa taala) about him! Here's the post:
رَبَّ جِبْرِيلَ وَمِيكَائِيلَ وَإِسْرَافِيلَ أَعِذْنِي مِنْ حَرِّ النَّارِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ: Ilham Concerning Me: "O Abdal Qadir I Am With You"
I had suspected that he was mentally ill early on when he randomly decided to post a picture of himself. Now it's pretty obvious that he does suffer from something lol.Ilham Concerning Me: "O Abdal Qadir I Am With You"
بسم الله الرحمـن الرحيم
والصلاة والسلام على من لا نبي بعده
وعلى آله واهل بيته اجمعين
For those readers who are unaware, my name is Mohammed Abdul Khader. This is my birth name which appears on my birth certificate; the name given to me by my father.
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian (d. 1908), who claimed to be the Promised Messiah, received inspirations from Allah concerning myself. For example, an inspiration given to him in 1883:
Tadkirah (English); p. 113
Then on May 27, 1905, he received the following inspiration concerning myself:
Tadkirah (English); p. 724

If I'm mentally ill then you are an atheist who considers any disclosing of a divine inspiration as either an intentional lie or mental illness.Originally posted by maneatinglizard View PostI had suspected that he was mentally ill .My Blog

Then it makes you an Atheist as well!!Originally posted by ذو الفقار View PostIf I'm mentally ill then you are an atheist who considers any disclosing of a divine inspiration as either an intentional lie or mental illness.
You really need to open a dictionary and learn what the word 'Atheism' means.

How am I an atheist?Originally posted by salman47 View PostThen it makes you an Atheist as well!!

Atheists necessarily deny all divine inspirations and revelations without discrimination. They immediately dismiss any claimant of divine inspiration as either a liar or delusional.
Since maneatinglizard has done exactly that, I have compared him to atheist. My Blog

If you analyze all of maneatinglizard 's comments under a microsoft, no where does he say anything that will make one think that he is an Atheist.Originally posted by ذو الفقار View PostHow am I an atheist?

He shares with the atheists the idea that anyone who claims to have a divine inspiration or vision is "mentally ill".Originally posted by salman47 View PostIf you analyze all of maneatinglizard 's comments under a microsoft, no where does he say anything that will make one think that he is an Atheist.
On my blog, I have written a brilliant 4-part series on the reality of divine inspiration in Islam, especially to non-Prophets, with dozens of references from the sacred Texts:
رَبَّ جِبْرِيلَ وَمِيكَائِيلَ وَإِسْرَافِيلَ أَعِذْنِي مِنْ حَرِّ النَّارِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ: Continuation of Divine Inspiration (Part 1)
Whether the lizard-eater is an atheist or not, he certainly is ignorant of basic Islam. My Blog
