just because we acknowledge that women don't wear hijab doesn't mean we justify it.

I don't think we can make such broad generalizations...however from my own experience there is a substantial population that are quite westernized, and one that is very religious. I have seen examples from both to really make a definitive statement. Now having said that the level of their 'westernization' is nowhere near that of other communities like Arabs, Persians, South Asians, etc. However relative to our traditional society back home it is quite a leap.

So let me get this straight. According to you, women who don't wear scarf are beasts/animals?Originally posted by Zarawar View PostOk?
what is your point here?
not wearing a scarf or walking around half-naked is not human, let alone muslim.
Some want to decorate their women to please the community, while some preserve women for themselves.
Some lets them wear Indian, Lahori, Western and whatnot styles, while some will keep them away from secularization i.e. wear Hijab/Niqab dress more conservativly.
Not to mention, the ones that doe wear hijab are not forced. Instead, most come from secularist families.
Philosphy and sociology doesn't work and is nothing when it comes to rules and regulations pointed by Islam or Pashtunwali.
Also, the very identity (Afghan) and Muslim is what makes us unique from the test of 6 billion people.
Now, if someone doesn't dress according to their customs or doesn't speak their mother-tongue. Do you still consider them from your own?
NO!
I cant' believe there are people that defend women not wearing Hijab....
lol
sad but true.
inhuman = not human = animal

You need to watch your language buddy. There's a big difference between not human and not normal. And ppl who don't wear scarves are very normal for your information. They have also one head, two eyes, two arms and legs etc. And yes they have brains too.Originally posted by Zarawar View PostI wouldn't call it animal. But, I meant not human as in not normal, not in costumes with Islam and Afghan.
Not wearing a scarf may be not in line with what Islam says. But how can you say its not in custom with being an Afghan?
There are MANY Afghans out there who don't wear scarf, but their passport says they are afghan, they are born in afghanistan and they speak the language.

"not wearing a scarf does not go parallel with Pashtunwali or Islam"
lets put that aside,
How about you go walk around bear-headed in Afghainstan. And, see how people react to you, specially if you are holding a banner saying "I'm a pashtana" lol
There are MANY Afghans out there who don't believe in Allah SWT, but their passport says they are afghan, they are born in afghanistan and they speak the language.
Just because there are MANY afghans out there that does something, but their passports say they are afghans doesn't justify the fact that they can do whatever they want, and whatever they do is Afghan and fits the AFGHAN critiria.

I think its better to put this is another way. Instead of telling a woman who doesn't wear hijab, your society or culture or nation expects you to cover.....you should say why should you wear hijab, what is the purpose of hijab and what does it mean...this goes to the point i made in another topic that when people dont know the purpose of what they do. Like a blind follower, or people who are just born muslims and dont know why they are muslims....then that shows the weakness in their belief...When a pashtana who wears hijab in Afghanistan, but when comes to the west takes it off...thats a clear example

whats the topic? how should afghan women dress? When I started reading it , it was self image! We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.
If I agree with you we w'd both be wrong.
Be good, If you can't be good be lucky
