I'm very particular about my clothes or 'appearance' but that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the other gender. Being 'wrongly' or inappropriately dressed is something I associate with unsophistication.

In other words, I put the sex in metro-sexual and the sex in I want to sex yuo.

          other gender?
I doubt you are suppose to look good to impress the opposite gender. Instead, it should be impressing your family/Allah SWT and most importantly your spouse.
People that does that stuff are refered to as "saboon-konaks" in parso

lol maybe some girls, not all. In college some of the girls come so dressed as if theyve come to some fashion show no joke. Lol it reminds me once i was in one of my lessons and i asked my friend if i could borrow her mirror, so while the teacher was talking i was looking in the mirror, and my teacher was like put it away, then said that before some girl in her lesson was doing the same and she told them, if you think you look so ugly then you shouldn't have come in to college, i was like did u seriously say that and she was like yes i did.
Anways once there was this girl in the toilets at college and she was putting blusher on her face was caked with it no joke, it looked like she had been burned. Lol just thought i'd share them stories with you lot.

Oh and what about our own Afghans?

Specially, the more secularized, westernized and azada (outgoing) families.

Go to weddings, and you'll feel like your in a zoo with a very small handful of people that are normal.

Men and women trying to impress each other:
Men with their eyebrows plucked and whatnot
Women with their half-naked dresses, makes you wanna think "Where is the Islam, Pashtunwali or Afghaniat" ?

              pretty sad stuff.

Majority of Pashtans don't wear HIJAB!

I have came across probably around 50 Afghan females where I live. I cannot think of any that wore Hijabs.

Afghans are good at watching bollywood movies and adopting to their culture.

The majority of educated and middle-class (and above) Pashtanas do not wear scarves. Pasthanas in the West wear scarves because of the strong Salafi influence there, because Muslims in the West are in a 24/7 state of defensive-mode and because their families think the kids would engage in shirk and fornication if not 'scarved'-up.

The Muslim scarf stinks of Arab-ism. If you want scarves, there are also people who want to see Pashtanas in Lahori attire and I want neither of those.

Zrrawar, there is a frame of mind which some people are in and they want to look good, they want their body to be in shape, they want their clothes to show their personality and they want to purse whatever it is that they think is stylish and they do it do satisfy themselves.

                            Ok?
                            what is your point here?
not wearing a scarf or walking around half-naked is not human, let alone muslim.
Some want to decorate their women to please the community, while some preserve women for themselves.
Some lets them wear Indian, Lahori, Western and whatnot styles, while some will keep them away from secularization i.e. wear Hijab/Niqab dress more conservativly.
Not to mention, the ones that doe wear hijab are not forced. Instead, most come from secularist families.
Philosphy and sociology doesn't work and is nothing when it comes to rules and regulations pointed by Islam or Pashtunwali.
Also, the very identity (Afghan) and Muslim is what makes us unique from the test of 6 billion people.
Now, if someone doesn't dress according to their customs or doesn't speak their mother-tongue. Do you still consider them from your own?
                            NO!
I cant' believe there are people that defend women not wearing Hijab....
                            lol
                            sad but true.
