  • Pathani shirts

These are a pretty cool, what can you tell me about these types of outfits? Let's say I goto Pakistan, can I wear something like this out to dinner or walking around on a date? Or are these for special holiday occasions only? For the evening I think a silk lungee with matching ascot would be dope, more dope than Helmand heroin

      Wtf is a pathani shirt?

The images you posted are Shalwar Kameez.

And if you go on date in Pakistan, do so on your own discretion. If girl's father or brother see, you will be a dead man.

You're dead only if they're Backwards Pakhtoons, Balochis or Sindhis who can't accept the modern culture of dating invented by the Gaura British Angrezi people.

I know these are shalwar kameez, but they have a Pathan/Pashtun style, right? Would these shirts be the ticket for being the sharpest dressed man in the room at a weekend party or a nightclub?

Thanks for the dating advice I'll remember to avoid bazaars and other public places. What I have in mind are fine restaurants and hotel lounges, ideally the same one I'm staying in.

What is a Gaura? Please keep insults out of this thread.

              Those clothes are pretty disco.

You dress according to the circumstances/venue. West of the Indus, where it is tad more conservative, stick to traditional cuts, colours and styles. I have a friend (who according to the poster above) is a 'gaura'. He pretty much wears khat partug/shalwar kameez when he flies into airports in England and the US. I gave him one of those embroidered kurta-types and he decided to fly in to Kabul with it on. Personally, I would stay simple because amongst conservative Pashtuns that style draws attention. Best to just blend in and to save your half-sleeve disco shalwar kameez ones for another occasion.

But yeah, your pick should work for the party in Lahore.

These styles seem most likely to be seen at paki weddings. Never been to a paki wedding, just assuming lol like tor khan said, a simple cut will save you a bunch of stares. I prefer a plain grey or black with a collar myself.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

The Shalwar Kammez originally comes from Afghanistan anyways so not much of a difference, except that indians and pakis have innovated it to their own liking.

Is that just your opinion, or is that the style of clothing homosexual men wear in Pakistan?

Not just in Pakistan, even in Afghanistan, candy colours, tight shirts, excessive decoration, colours that draw unnecessary attention, all of it is considered gay.

Young men who dress up like this are often considered immoral if not gay.

Personally, I tend to like the more simple and classic look. But I am okay with a little bit experimentation in design. However, I don't like gay colours.

not sure about the first and third pic, but the middle pic is defiantly Indian fashion, never seen any pakistani person wearing that

I saw this in a cultural event on a panjabi guy last year and I remember being irritated by the sight of such an outfit being modified and ruined by half sleeves. I guess it's part of fashion and partly due to the convenience because the weather is pretty got in India but as far as I know, afghan men don't walk around in half sleeves. Afghan men also don't mix and match the color of their top and bottom the way some Pashtuns from across the border do. And thank God for all of that.
