Just to clarify, I am not saying don't wear any nice clothes/accessories etc.
I am saying do stuff that appeals to you and that you like, but, keep in mind that fitting into a given fashion can have unwanted consequences.
You yourself can determine the balance betweeen wearing something that you like and giving off the image that you are seeking the attention of others.

I myself have better things to judge people over, rather than the colour of their hijab. Just making an observation where many young females end up being hypocritical in their choice with regards to "hijab fashion".
      ---
To advise others is an easy matter, the difficulty is accepting advice -- since it is bitter for those who follow their
      own inclinations and desires

Hijab is about covering one self fashion means drawing attention to one self, islam says cover well don't draw attention to your self , but people fail to understand these days what is what, busting at the seams clothes and with hijab on top is not islamic ,islam says wear loose clothing that dos'nt show the shape of your body, allah swt give hadayath

where did you learn that from??
fashion is people expressing themselves by their choices of attire. how someone chooses to do that is what makes it right or wrong. there are also dimwits who follow others and the trends they create but then there are also other dimwits who come up with their own descriptions of words and things such as yourself.

Fashion is all about attracting others to oneself and be appreciated by them by heart or by tongue. Everyone wants to look nice in others' eyes.
Its not about one's choice all the time. Most of the time, the more you follow fashion things your life gets more miserable but unwillingly he or she follows it because it is fashion, he or she has to look nice in others' eyes.

Okay I didn't read all of this ... but I got to "if your into fashion why would you wear a hijab"

are you guys freaking kidding me? seriously? maybe I shouldn't be here right now ..boredom and irritation aren't such a nice mix..

but why are some of you so backwards? so a person who wears hijab can't be into fashion? being into fashion is a very very broad statement. Someone who goes with the trend doesnt necessarily mean they have fashion ..or someone who has a sense of fashion isn't necessarily trendy ..etc etc .. you can form a lot of the statements like above. I don't get why if someone likes a certain design or color, all of a sudden they are bringing so much attention to themselves and they aren't modest anymore.

Our ummah has serious issues. I think we need to focus a little inshaAllah and stop being so harsh and judgmental !

well because the whole idea of hijab is to negate the flamboyancy and shallow superficiality that fashion is concentrated on. Whether it's trendy it's focused on the appeal externalities something hijab is supposed to nullify

I think the problem is we aren't judgemental enough or for the wrong reasons; we turn a blind eye way too much.

On that note hijab is a very low priority issue for me. But fashion is a product of shallow materialism which rots our societies; the more it's referred to in a disparaging and negative light, the better for society.

But it has everything to do with absurd notions of materialism, which is rooted in nonsensical social conventions.

                              now seek a cliff.

Maybe she got it from the "expressing" themselves part, since if you're just doing it for yourself, then the expression is already self contained within your own mind.

way to contradict the very point you're trying to make moron.
