  • Rahim Shah : I am Afghan, not Bengali

Rahim Shah - I am Afghani Not Bangali - YouTube
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Ethnically yes he is an Afghan Every Pakhtun is no doubt about it !! But that ethnic identity is today fortunately or unfortunately not my nationality like some Pakhtuns living on the other side of the Durand. And I believe same is the case of Rahim Shah.

^ He says 'I am also an Afghan not a Bengali'

And she says that 'Music has no boundries' and it's true else Indians would have never listened to Rahat Fateh Ali and welcomed Mehdi Hassan.. and vice versa

                  Pakistani Pakhtuns have Pakistani Nationality

Pakhtuns of Afghanistan are Afghan even by Nationality!!

                    I know.

As soon as I saw it, I told myself "This might be the same place where tor_khan went --since he made a similar comment about Rahim Shah ~2 years ago".

                            thats not true

yes people in jalalabad might look more brown because of the hto weather in there but still there are various types of peopel from white to dark.

i dont know how that plays a role?

Well If he is having a green NIC than he is a person with dual nationality. Or you are saying that he left Jalalabad when he was young and has almost quitted his nationality of Afghanistan.
