Salaam Toramana. Just wanted to share some thoughts on an earlier posting that you made, but decided to remove.

There is a certain pattern to this - that of the individual born on the continent sometimes disregarding those born overseas. True, I cannot be as 'nostalgic' as you because to be fair, I don't have an early childhood in Swat, however, the power struggles within the neighbourhood are very familiar to me as are some of the illusions of global justice projected outside of it. In short, whilst I started life in the West, I have lived in the (Middle) East for at least a third of it with plenty of travel back-forth.

As for the rest, I have spent more time in Afghanistan as an adult on work assignments than I have in Pakistan. I see my responsibility as being one of contributing my training/administration and project management skills to the Pashtun school context though I have not found a similar vehicle to also do this in Pakistan.
