sorry for the late answer, its true that durrani empire might have contributed to dna of south asians in recent times, however it seems the linkage of south asia with afghanistan and even central asia is much older, probably going back to the days of indus valley civilization more then 5000 years ago, afghanistan was also part of indus civilization, their have been indus sites found in afghanistan aswell.
