I am not sure about the special forces, but yes the did provide some technical help i.e. maps etc. But Iranians are lasham and aars-wipe if the West give them some status and recognition which they feel being due, but they can't now because their arab puppets are not dispensable, and beside it is good to wedge mutual distrust and perpetuate regional discord and be able to manipulate and dominate, and they can do that better when the weaker is not isolated.
