Salaam Scimitar ... I once got questioned going through airport security because my suitcase x-ray showed up what clearly appeared to be something scimitar-like in my baggage. I had to unpack and they were relieved to find that it was a tourist piece because it was sealed behind a glass case in a wooden mount, with little wall hooks on the plywood backing. The only way in was to "smash the glass". It was made of a silver/other metal alloy and was wrapped in a Kashmiri silk rug that I bought in Muscat. In fact replica swords and daggers are all part of the Omani national costume.

This sword of mine now hangs proudly in my parent's living room ...
