Hanafi is a madhab of Ahlul Sunnah wal jamah, In fiqh means islamic jurispendence or law and rulings we follow the rulings of Imam Abu Hanifa. Most of the sunni world is hanafi from morroco to indonesia. there are other madhabs as well, like maliki, hanbali and shafi.
Ashari was a scholar who summarized the aqeeda and what we believe like the attributes of Allah (SWT) and day of judgement. sorry my explanation is not very good I will give you links which explain better.

What is a Madhhab and why is it necessary to follow one?
Basically madhab makes it easier for you to follow Islam because not all of us are knowledgeable enough to make our own rulings. if you become a mujtahid you don't have to follow a madhab. A mujtahid is some one who can to ijtihad and derive rulings from quran and sunnah.
