we are having a lot of rain as it is our wet season and the downpours are heavy. i love it as it cools everything down, otherwise it is very hot and muggy. this is a semi tropical area and at this time of year we have stingers, like jellyfish, in the ocean and it is dangerous for swimming without full body cover. i had a snake come in my house the other day and had to keep an eye on it for about 3 hours before it disappeared and hopefully left, via the door i had left open. he wasn't a dangerous one though i do have death adders in the garden. found 3 in a year. doing a bit of garden clean up, cooking and sewing when not on pf. i'm not real keen on goldmining as it leaves toxic waste. foreign mining companies would have even less respect for land/water in poor countries where they can get away with bad environmental policies. i have lived in a goldmining town and there were channels of water with 'do not swim' signs around.
