I've downloaded the latest addition to the library (My Life with the Taliban) and already I'm on page 42. I'm reading a novel by a Turkish writer at the moment, but this one, has me gripped already. I'm not always so disciplined to read two books at the same time!

Do I assume you've read this in full? So far, the book (as explained in the introduction) is a story about growing up in Kandahar. The introduction says the book is essential in understanding the American presence in Afghanistan, and purports to represent a non-emotive view of life with and under the Taliban. I'm keen to learn and that version of the Taliban story will allow me to understand more.
