I second you, Dust. I consider it a heinous crime to use child's innocence, openness, and vulnerability for instilling any fear, the most common and earliest ones being the fear of supernatural beings. Why is it so hard to teach morals and manners to children without instilling the fear of monsterous camera up in the sky, which is constantly scrutinizing their each and every action. "Don't do this or that because you will burn in hell". What a child would get from your reasoning is that his/her behavior is perfectly alright by your standard (as parent), but does not please someone up in the sky. Why not to explain simply that this is wrong because it is going to harm someone or would infringe someone's right or would be considered as wrong action. And not to forget, how we stop children from questioning everything,lol..
