BLS, all the major political parties in Karachi have their own "land mafia" whose responsibility it is to grab land. Even the Police holds plenty of illegal land in Karachi. The army has also only recently acquired land in Swat through very underhanded tactics. This Pashtun "land mafia/drug mafia" thing is a gross exaggeration by the MQM. Student bodies in Karachi are also nothing more than over-glorified gangs. Their jobs include harassing teachers and students and engaging in other random acts of violence.
Pashtuns have no voice in the media here, just like Assakzai pointed out in his article. Anyway, look what I found:
