more recently because im doing trauma and orthopedics (t and o) as my last rotation before specilisation The T and O consultant saw a patient on the ward round and said i quote "shes dry as a bone, give her fluids" the patient was in distress I was seeing 2 the patient when he barged in on me... I may be junior but damn that lady had a JVP up 2 her ear lobes and creps in her lung field as well as bilateral pedal odema.... instead of genious idea of giving fluids 2 some1 in overload i gave her 5mg diamorphine every 2 hours, started her on a GTN infusiuon to keep systolic over 100 and gave her STAT furosemide 80mg.... treating pulmonaru odema isnt rocket science!
