Slaama leikum, Tor Khana! (lol. That's how the Pukhtuns here say salaam :D So I reply with, "wa alaikum slaam." :D Totally works out, do'en it?)

And the Punjabis say, "Aslaam leikum!" So I say, "Wa alaikum aslaam." That works, tooooooooo!

And the (Arabic-speaking) Africans say, "Salaam 'alaikum." So I say, "Wa 'alaikum salaam."

And when *I* initiate the greeting, I SO like to take my time with it. So I go, "Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh!" (Of course that's with my Arabic professors mostly Still works, I tell you. And the answer to everything is -- SO unQrratugai-ishly -- "HHHamdulillah!" lolll ...)
