    That was a bad suggestion..
a bad idea and as well as bad timing

maybe only 5 % of the users will vote Pro your topic.. the rest will go against it ..
When u call it hujra or community then You have to keep the door of Hujra Open.. Let guests come to the hujra and speak about whatever they want.
I am expecting more than 2000 member by the end of This year. More members will join in 2011 Inshallah..
If we wont let other ppl to join or speak then whats the need of talking with same old members everyday?
New members come with new ideas, words and etc so we always need new members.

I understand, PashtunQueen.. the community is growing steadily and it's hard to keep up with all the new posts and with who is who..

But not letting people register anymore would be unfair toward people who want to join and contribute.. and it would be unfair to ourselves, too. Who knows? Maybe there is someone out there we all can learn HEAPS from.. and if we don't let these people register, we're taking away these opportunities from them and from ourselves.

And besides, I believe the goal of PF never was to be the largest Pashtun community on the web.. but rather the most informative and most resourceful. It's not about quantity as much as it is about quality. Like Admin Khan put it, it's for our children to one day come to PF and find every single bit of information they will ever need when it comes to Pashtun culture, history, politics, language etc. .. rather than having to search the internet for ours, it all can be combined in one place: The worldwide Pashtun Community, PashtunForums. So, in that sense.. we can't really have too many contributing members. =)

        LoL my dear Pashtunqueen

PF looks like a new born baby to me caz it has to see alot of work , alot of members and alot of topix.
The 1600 members are moslty new and some 700 joined pf since May 2010
I have been in forums where the number of users topped 10000 with uncountable topix.

i dont think 100 of the 1600 members come online everyday or every week.
Many ppl made accounts and left, more wil come and make accounts and leave.. we cant stop them from PF..

Imagine u were not a member of PF..
you come and find this pashtun community and love to join them
You click on registration and it tells you.. Sorry no space available !
What will be ur reaction and how will u feel?

This is why we cant take the step of closing registration..
let our members top the 10,000 mark and after that we might decide of something else..

Imagine not being here and not having the capability of joining, It would suck right? With the same logic and above described suggestions, many other potential users won't be able to join us either. Lets say for example, there is this horrible article written about Pashtuns, someone who is Hungarian read it and decided to verify it if its true or not, he searches "Pashtun community" on Google and looks at the 1st search results[which is us]. He smiles and tells himself "Missions accompolished, woho, I found Pashtuns!" Now he visits the site and wishes to join to ask his questions but guess what the site says? "Sorry, no more users allowed." How do you think he would feel? One of our ultimate goals is to clear misconceptions and to dismiss baseless rumors about us. That is what many of our think tanks are here for.

          PashtunQueen,
We appreciate your concern but our goal was never to be the largest. Our goal is to set up a data repository consisting of information regarding our ethnic group. That is why you see the Kitabtoon and many other sections. We want our children to not have to visit hundreds of websites to search for literature or ways of learning Pashto. We want them all here in PF. We want our youth to visit PF and have access to our articles, books and many other resources. Nonetheless, we the staff want our users to have a streamlined experience. With that being said, If you have any suggestions, feel free to voice your mind.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

I like new comers...You get to hear different views, in putting aside different opinions. You learn from them, and they learn from you.

Plus this site is still new....we still have a lot to go. There are many forums that have been running for a decade, and are still allowing registrations.

                    Pashtun Queen and Unknown Prince-

I understand where you are coming from, a little (although in blood I am not Pashtun Unknown Prince-just like maybe you are and maybe you are not a Prince?).

I have recently joined, so had the doors closed earlier I wouldn't be here. A little it makes us newbies feel...nah forget that thought, I do feel very welcome here...

Personally I am more of a loner, and feel more comfortable in small groups or completely alone-so do understand the overcrowded feeling. Sometimes though things do not go how I think I would want them to, and sometimes Alhamduliah the way I didn't want them to, turns out to be better.

i sometimes think that certain members have different accounts and pose as different people in order to spread their ideas.

i don't know how my suggestion will be taken but i think there are members who have joined months back and have not yet come back....may be they just made an account and forgot or may be they no longer want to come...there are some members in PF who had joined months back may in March and have a few or no post at alll......can these accounts be deleted.

we aim of having thousands of members in PF....but presently out of the total listed, how many are actually active????????? i think not even 50 %

so we just dont want quantity but quality tooo....so not only increasing no. on the list of members but members who post ( i dont means 100 post per day) but active...

I did not suggest that you were not a Pashtun, I only said maybe you are a prince and maybe not. An insult was not intended at all, that is not me.

Proves how little we know each other.

Now I wonder if it is even possible to really get to know someone??????

Please accept my apology for anything said, unintentionally.

I think since one can see "latest activity" then there must be a way of finding out, who never even logs on any more. Many people log on but do not post, and I think that is fine.

                            and unknown to me prince-

I do have a blood tie to Iran..but I do not think of myself as Irani
