  • Links to PF threads not working

When one posts a link to a thread sometimes, then that thread gets linked to page saying "404: Page Not Found This page does not exist" with a HostGator icon at the top left.

This is the case for every single PF thread that you find on Google. It wasn't like this before.

It seems to me like the URL format may have changed, and Google hasn't updated it's results yet.

      Looking into it.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Thanks. Since you're here, I just want to raise your attention to some more issues in case you're unaware of them.

        1. When you hit the "minimize" button in a thread (little minus button at the top right-hand side of each post), then that post is minimized permanently and there is no way to restore is. This is usually done by accident.

        2. The "mentions" feature doesn't work anymore.

        3. Nobody receives notifications anymore when their post is quoted or thanked. The only time one gets a notification seems to be when they receive a PM.

You are correct - general site upgrades are coming soon, at which point updated versions of these plugins will be installed.

          Thanks.

Really appreciate the new design. I did not expect this and this is a very welcome development. I'm sure the new design will make the site more attractive to posters interested in Pashtun issues.

One thing I would like to add it is that initial complaint raised in this thread has not been fixed. When looking for threads on Google and coming to PF, then those threads aren't directed to. They instead direct to the homepage of this forum. Try clicking on some of the links here (besides the first two which are PDFs): https://www.google.com/search?ei=DS_...iz.IOy-0NBRDmE
