    Everyone congratulate [MENTION=8995]DSM0305[/MENTION] -- since he will be our new moderator. He has been tasked with being impartial, maintaining high standards, and improving the quality of discussions, while giving everyone a fair chance to express their views, although in a respectful manner.

Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

              I wish you success in your efforts to make this forum a comfortable place where people of all backgrounds and opinions can express themselves without being harassed or bullied, and also to moderate those certain individuals (they know who they are) who need to be moderated.
