• Women's only section?

Salamoona to Admin Khan and everyone else,

The following is merely a suggestion which everyone is free to totally ignore and discard if it has no value, but what about a women's only section on Pashtun forums?

I am one of the oldest members of Pashtun forums (been on here longer than some of the moderators) and when I first started there were quite a lot of female members, now that has dropped.

I think some of the female members would have felt uncomfortable and put off with the behaviour of some of the trolls here e.g. aggressive behaviour, discussions about pornography etc. Maybe we should have a women's only section where men (including Bengal_Tiger) could not post in, or perhaps not even view (but that would mean a passive female reader or "lurker" might not be able to view it either).

I would however be very disappointed if that women's forum was hijacked by secular "feminist" trolls with an agenda (promote secularism, promote homosexuality) e.g. the Roshina/Qrratugai types but otherwise I think female members should have their own space where they can feel comfortable and not intimidated and speak about things of interest, concern to them.

I think it would increase female participation and protect them from one or two of the male trolls we have on here.

    Just my 2 cents.

    B.T.

Well that's at least one female member who thinks it's a good idea.

What do the other female members think?

It is a good idea. The problem is how to avoid our trolls enter the section, if the section will be closed for non-members ?

There are two ways, technical and non technical.

          1. Technical: Approved female members only, read only.

I don't know much about IT or software but perhaps the forum software will allow the admin to create a sub-forum in which only approved members can post in and everyone else can read only i.e. only women can post.

          2. Non-Technical: Give infractions to trolls who violate the rules and post in the woman's only section. No sensible member will do such a thing and any troll who does will inevitably get banned if he keeps on re-offending.

          On another note,

You can have two female-only sub-forums.

One which the general public can read and another one which only members can read. You can then decide whether only female members (and male mods e.g. Admin Khan and others) can read this or all members (including men).

The public women's only sub-forum would let Pashtun women online know that there is a space on the internet where they can discuss things of interest to them, and the private members only one would give them extra privacy. It's possible to have both.

However my views and opinions are not really that important, what matters is what female members and the admin want.

how will a computer recognize the deference between a man and a woman?? why not get the men to behave properly instead?? it's okay for them to act like pigs on their own but not when women are around. many many claps for that logic.

I think as of now, we should rather invest our energy in creating a fruitful environment for both genders.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
