  • Suggestion: Approval system for Posts on Pashtunforums!

As salaamu aleikoum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

The incidents of insults, personal attacks and use of profanity is increasing on Pashtunforums.

I notice how some mebers get away with posting insults and profanity while moderators fail to notice it unless the post is reported by anyone.

As I understood from Admin Khan, nobody ever reports a post. So the reporting of offensive posts system does not work.

So i suggest that all new accounts should be restricted. New members must post at least 300 posts before they get the liberty to post without having their posts approved by moderators.

This is a good measure to prevent spamming. And it also helps us prevent people from insulting one another.

Furthermore, I would suggest that editing of Posts by members should be restricted.

People tend to post very disturbing stuff and profanity and then quickly edit their post before it is quoted by someone or reported.

I think they are doing a tremendous job in keeping this place clean. I usually e-mail or Pm admin and he takes care of my requests very quickly.

I am guilty of not reporting but I do PM him and he takes care of it in a blink of an eye.
Wait until you are insulted daily by a gang of nationalists and kaafirs. I'll see how you will complement moderators for their tremendous job.

In the rare occasions that I see fights here it's almost always between people who have been here a long time and have over 300 posts. I think things are fine the way they are.

Yes, and members with lots of posts who repeatedly insult and attack people should be restricted for good.

We have these rules on other forums. There they work perfectly.

Thank you for voicing your concern, Sangar! Glad to see you know that you have the liberty to speak up.

One thing I must mention is that you tend to do the exact same thing that you accuse others of. Insulting others IS a common disasters among certain members here, but moderators have (at least in my opinion) done an excellent job taking care of that, and no one has as of yet shown any bias towards editing, deleting, and/or reprimanding the particular individual for using prohibited language on PF.

You must treat others the way you want them to treat you. So if you don't want others to insult you, don't insult them. And I speak from personal experiences here. Some of us have absolutely no boundaries, and we don't realize that we are actually unconsciously representing all Pukhtuns (including our beloved parents) however we carry ourselves, including in a very bad way.

          With that said, ...

Do you honestly expect us to be on PF 24'7, lurking through every single thread, skimming every single post to test it for profanity? That's impractical and too much to demand of the moderators here.

That's why we request members' cooperation by REPORTING any post that they find offensive. If it's not reported and if we don't come across it individually ourselves, we won't know it's there.

Thank you for the suggestion. I assure you that Admin Khan and we moderators will discuss this amongst ourselves and let you know what we come up with, ka khaire wee. Give us a little time.

This idea will also be given attention to amongst the moderators, I assure you, but giving my personal opinion, I must say I strongly disagree. I think it's a good thing that members can edit their posts because that means that only a small number of people (if any) might get a chance to see their profane language and after they realize that what they've written is unacceptable in public, then they may edit their post accordingly.

Thanks again for your suggestions and concerns! They're duly noted.

Sangar I have seen you attack and insult people too. Is it okay for you but not for them? Please don't be mad at me for saying that

One more thing, by the way . . .

The problem/trouble isn't from new members necessarily; it's more from old members, if not equally from both. Would we also have to approve the posts of new members, or at least those who have been reported several times and/or we know what type of language they typically use in their posts?

you as an admin send me a 5 paragraphed pm telling me something has been looked after only so it gets repeated 5 days later, what do you expect from me?
i have to take my anger on some one. if you are not going to fix my problem, i have no reason to sit there and watch people insult me. if i am going to get insulted once a week then i might as well earn it. how is that for justification? when you feel sick and tired of me, feel free to get rid of me.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

You are the most biased moderator after Tor Khan. Both of you show bias against orthodox Muslims and allow attacks and insults.

Your participation in the thread where I was being called a murtad shows us how you tend to side with people because you dont like the fact there are people who challenge your anti-Islamic agenda here.

And I have never insulted anyone. If my posts are perceived as insulting, I would kindly demand from you to point out where I have insulted anyone.

old members who keep insulting others should be moved back to restricted group so all of their future posts are subject to approval.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

That's your opinion, and I'm perfectly okay with it. You can call me biased all you want -- bu Tor Khan?! Whoa! Either way, thanks again for voicing your opinion. It's appreciated.

You're called murtad, and you're offended? You've called me kaafir, "little girl," munafiq, and a ton of other names (that I wish not to put here) that you yourself would not appreciate being called at all. You've accused ME -- and many other members who tend to disagree with you -- of being this and that, but when others accuse you of something or the same thing, you think it needs special attention and focus and should be taken care of immediately.

This is what I meant when I said you yourself insult others but when others do it to you, it becomes a different story.

Let's please play our games more fairly, can we?

I'll be happy to note them to you once I compile them all together, don't you worry.

Similarly, however, I request you to point out exact posts in which Tor Khan and/or I have ever been biased. Expressing agreement with people I agree with isn't being biased. BUT if I've ever given a warning to someone I disagree with and never to someone I agree with, then please point that out.

Sangar I apologize if I am wrong but I think I have seen you call several people kafirs & athiests. You have insulted at least two dead beloved Pashtun poets. Anyway I don't wanna argue/fight with you If someone is overly sensitive then it's best that they stay out of political and religious discussions and that is why you will rarely see me in those sections
