Two threads that made with scimitar in the title have disappeared.

There is no explanation given as to why in the "thread deletion" sticky.

Who done it? And Why?

The last one was in the hujra forum...what gives? Onw of the moderators here are an admirer of scimitar and doesn't want his idiotic foolishness exposed?

Two things AlChemist.

1. Your first thread got as fair a hearing as it needed, but I got the sense when exchanging comments with Scimitar, that he felt that I should have acted sooner to delete the thread. I left it for a while, hoping for it to burn out, but acted out of sensitivity when I pulled it. The thread that followed was much more short-lived, again drawing some contribution and some support for your point of view.

2. You say that your threads had the title Scimitar - well actually no. They were twists on his name and were meant to provoke and inflame.


In your defence I believe that Scimitar's "pork campaign" has not been an example of fair behaviour, and I have shared this with him. I even mentioned this in the thread. There appears to have been a considerable build up of tension between you both. It is simple, from here-on, should either of you be unfairly picked on/insulted, report the posts. I have no hesitation in issuing an infraction or suspension for poor behaviour.

Considering the positive contributions that you could both potentially make to the understanding of Islam, I repeat, I am disappointed at both your behaviours. To that end, both of you share some responsibility for what has happened.

I was even called a troll, for actually trying to hold up a mirror to both of you and deflecting some of the harshness. In truth, public witch hunts don't suit me, Hallowe'en or no Hallowe'en and lower the quality all around. Think positive. Think peace. I could restore the threads, but I'm sure you want to be known for making better contributions than two Scimitar attack threads.

Thread attacks? More like defensive offence. He has been calling me a liar...now I am airing his dirty laundry and you won't let it fly?


I don't care about his pork campaign. That was just to show how obsessive and narrow minded he is. He goes around saying all kinds of nonsense about me...you let it pass because it is in a post and not a thread? What is the big difference? 50 posts spread over 10 threads or 1 post in one thread? You see that as being equal?


Then the second thread, you should bring back. That was my challenge to him. I didn't want it to get buried in the other thread with ozy's non stop trolling. He HAD TO BE SHOWN HIS FOLLY!

This guy has been weaseling his way out every time I have debunked him.


It is obvious your favouring scimitar dull edge here... if you don't know what the discussion was about you should have let him have his say. I wanted him to admit that he was wrong. After all the nasty things he has been saying...all the false fabrications and all the slander ...the only thing I wanted to do was to show how WRONG he was to argue with me on a subject that he is totally ignorant of.

If showing someone's ignorance is morally wrong to you...then maybe you should just shut down the whole forum. This is a place of debate. I never complained to you of scimitar ..and scimitar hasn't complained to you of me...so what you did has nothing to do with us...it has to do with your own issues my friend. He and I both know that in the end of the day..the one that gets emotional and reactive is the one that losses the debate which is why that last thread was a POINT by POINT break down of his fallacious argument. He asked for it... I gave it ...There is no ground for you to pull it off.

Spare me the theatrics ... no one is witch hunting. If You don't put it back up ... I ll just make another and put a nice title on it so you won't get offended....

Because of our locations we use different "versions" of English. I may miss some smaller Americanisms. Not sure about "dude". I wouldn't even know how to translate it I'm afraid. In general, however, I mean what I say and sometimes that ends with my walking away after I have made my point. It becomes rather tasking to have to explain oneself over and over.

It would appear that you are insistent on putting your desire to take the AlChemist/Scimitar banter into the public space. You are almost defending this as an entitled right that you and he share with mutual agreement. It's a bizarre relationship to say the least. I disagree, however, that either of you need an audience. That, in summary, is my "issue".

Whether you and Scimitar fight or shake hands eventually, you may wish to consider your own space to start with. Perhaps the both of you are willing to work that out yourselves. Also, given the full tone of your posting to me here, consider calling me "friend" when I extend you that courtesy.

Thank you for the advice. Meantime, I am charged with keeping some order about the place. Please avoid making threats about restarting threads that are more to do with petty personal cat-fights than advancement of debate that might be useful to the rest of us.
