Don't talk about the language lol. Just tune on any tv or radio station from Afghanistan, you will hear more farsi broadcasting than Pashto.
bro you are talking about Afghanistan lol.
I told I want Pashtunistan..then again end of the day their national anthem is in Pashto...but Farsi is used more there which I agree with.

If you put a radio or channel of Nangarhar, Paktia, Kandahar, etc. you will not hear Farsi.
But these cities are not the only cities of Afghanistan... There are five times more than these

Gadoonwal wrora its half and half. If you are in the south, and some central provinces along with the outskirts of Kabul, the lingua-franca and media is in nothing but Pashto. Along with all the signs you will witness. We need to work on doing the same in Pashtunkhwa, InshaAllah. In Afghanistan, we have Panjshiris proudly singing in Pashto. In fact, some of the songs these Panjshiris have recorded are amazing. Listen to this one.

Put it this way, even a gas station would say "Da teelo pump". Look at the media, almost every Afghan website has a Pashto version to it. Not to mention, the majority of the major Pashto related sites are from Afghanistan. Benawa, larawbar, and the list goes on. However, what we are discussing is nonsense. Media, in Pashto, whether it be from the south or north should be commended and supported, at all times. And the aforementioned is exactly why I work very closely with Pashtuns from both sides. I have supported many launches of websites from Pashtuns of Pakistan. In fact, I have spent hours designing websites for them, for free. Simply because I want my people on the other side to also get active with our language. Even till today, I work very closely with some administrators of other websites. Also brother, I would like to also say that even in Kabul city, the capital, the influence of Pashto and Pashtuns is more than visible. I can give you an array of examples, but I feel as if it's a waste of both of our times. Pashto in Afghanistan is on a rise, I can even provide you a bunch of videos, where in Tajik dominated provinces, the students are conducting workshops to learn the national, and official language Pashto! Abaad wosa rora. This current government in Afghanistan however, does not represent the inhabitants. It's dominated by war lords. Pashtuns should learn Farsi, English, French and Urdu. All languages are important. They might even assist them in earning a livelihood.

Also, I know that you wish and hope for unity. I am with you brother.

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

I am from Paktika. No ordinary person here speaks any other language apart from Pashto, very hard and pure Pashto that is difficult to understand, even for me.

Same is with Khost and Paktia. The whole south and east of Afghanistan, where majority of people are speaking Pashto, the rest, of course there is Pashto, but there are more people speaking Farsi, so that's why I mentioned 3 provinces.

Most media, especially that you will see if not in Afghanistan, is from Kabul, where more people speak Parsi. If you see media of Kunar, Kandahar, Khost, Zabul, etc., It will be in Pashto.

Very true. Take Benawa.com for an example, most of Benawas editors, whom I have met in person, are from Kandahar and they post in nothing but Pashto. It's arguably the most popular Pashto website on earth. Larawbar.com is another prime example of thriving Pashto media. Both websites supported the launch of PF, something I appreciate.

^ Admin khana, what would happen to us if you never existed. You always seem to take great effort into making a real understanding reply, much better than i have seen anyone do. Manana

@ Gadoonwal & Emkhan wrora, our country Afghanistan is not perfect. We have never been and we never will be. We have two official languages that serves the entire country. Now to where the language is more dominated differs from province to province, city to city. It will be completely wrong to shun down one language just to serve the other more. Pashto is a much more signifcant language to all of Afghanistan than you give credit for. Just a few years ago, there was a controversial issue at Kabul University. A group of folks from Kabul city wanted the name of the University to be only in Dari, Daneshgah-e Kabul. But ordinary educated Pashtuns didnt back down. So the government banned the use of Dari/Farsi words in higher places such as colleges/universities, military ranks, and such (in certain places). So now the official name of Kabul University is Da Kabul Pohantoon. The opposite was done in a Northern-Dari dominated region. But my main point is that Pashto is not the only language of Afghanistan and neither is Dari more dominated throughout. Just because you have seen more Kabul media in Dari, does not mean that Pashto media is not active from places like Jalalabad, Kandahar, Khost, etc or even Kabul itself. Does there need to be done more for Pashto? Of course! But it can only be done once us Pashtuns stand up and start doing it, of course this is currently being done. Just look at this site itself. Where else do you have so many Pashto books available in one website? I sure havent seen any other forum accomplish this.

Admin khan posted a video of an ethnic Tajik Panjshiri singer, Sediq Shabab. He sings beautifully in Pashto and has sang many ethnically Pashto songs, despite being a Tajik. And i do have to add, Pashtun culture has so much influence on Afghanistan. Everyone, aside from ethnicity, wears the same pardug kameez, Hazaras and Uzbeks wear lungees, Kabuli Tajiks do great attan in their weddings (i have been to a few).
