    but back to the music
i thought the prophet peace be upon him used to listin to music, girls who used to sing and even musc at weddings?
i thought as long as the lyrics dont give you ideas to do bad things and encourage them then the music and songs should be ok right?

singins little girls playing the duff is an exception. And it only occured during a special festivity.

There are many ahadith about the prohibition of playing musical instruments.

What does the "duff" mostly closely resemble, then, in modern terms?

Is there any example on film somewhere so I can see what it is?
            I'm curious now.

i too can pretend to be as pious as some others but there are things between me and God that only we know of and since nothing is hidden from him then why should i hide my desire for wanting to listen to music for the mere approval of what he created? the day he kills this particular desire inside me completely will be the day i will stop listening to it. no sooner or later than that...
i have no interest in being lead to a heaven that is promised to me at the end of a journey that requires me walking on a path blindfolded.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

I probably have sins 20 times worst than listening to music.

But I do not need to shove that in peoples faces and endorse it as if it is something legitimate.

actually you are doing just that. the thing is that you are endorsing something that you strongly believe in and you are shoving it in every one else's face. the only difference is that you define what i believe in as a sin and i leave yours at just a "belief".
on the bright side, we don't have to share eternity with each other. be that hell or heaven.

I did not write more than 30 ahadith recored in authentic collections. I am not Imam Abu Haneefah. I am not any other scholar.

It was Allah and his Messenger who prohibited it. And we as human beings accept it as it is.

I did not enforce anything on you. You are free to believe otherwise. It wasn't me who came up with the ban. The ban was known for the past 1400 years.

i as a human being have not accepted it. or at least that particular part of it so pardon me and exclude me from the rest of you.

First, not all Muslims believe that music is haram.
Second, there are no dancing women on the front page.
Third, the videos are in the "Videos" section, and not all over the site.
