  • Hi, Bangalorean here

    Hello everyone,

I joined this forum a couple of days back, and I was informed through PM that I'm supposed to introduce myself.

I'm Bangalorean, from Bangalore, India. I work as a software consultant. I've always been curious about Afghanistan and have wanted to know more about the place, people, etc. I have been lurking here for some days now, and decided to join a couple of days back.

Hoping to learn more and contribute usefully during my stay here!

    Thanks

Actually I am employed in Bangalore. I'm a software consultant and I travel to various clients in various countries as part of my job. I travel once in 2 months or so, and I just returned from one such assignment which happened to be in the US...

In Bangalore the software market is booming. Pay scales are very good and the field is very competitive too!

              I'm male.

And actually, there is another similar sounding city called Mangalore which has beaches, not Bangalore. Very confusing names we have here

Welcome aboard. So did you major in Computer Science?
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

                        -Ferishta, 1560–1620

Pretty fast. Too many people in a hurry, LOT of traffic and traffic jams, constant new construction, lot of vehicular pollution, expanding huge city... but much lower crime rate then most other cities, and generally peaceful, with lot of job opportunities! It's my favourite Indian city anyway
